Infrared heaters in the Building Energy Act (GEG)

Back to overview

The Building Energy Act (GEG) was defined this year to specify the requirements for the use of heating systems. The main focus is on the requirement that newly installed heating systems must be powered by at least 65% renewable energy sources such as sun, water or wind. Direct electric heating systems, which include infrared heating systems, meet these requirements and are considered an effective solution. The positive development in recent years reflects the fact that a significant proportion of the electricity in the public grid already comes from renewable energy sources – a trend that is set to continue.

Future-oriented heating solutions

At Könighaus, we attach great importance to offering our customers modern and energy-efficient heating solutions. In the area of new buildings, our infrared heating systems are an ideal choice that not only meet the legal requirements, but also ensure a pleasant living climate. The installation of our systems is based on structural thermal insulation, which must be at least 45 percent higher than that of a reference building in accordance with the GEG guidelines for new buildings. This requirement underlines the efficiency and suitability of our infrared heaters as the main source of heat in well-insulated buildings.

Modernization with Könighaus: Infrared heating for existing buildings

Structural thermal insulation is a decisive criterion for existing buildings – although there are exceptions that make it even easier to make the switch. In buildings without a water-bearing heating system, the installation of our infrared heaters enables a significant improvement in energy efficiency, provided that the thermal insulation is at least 30 percent higher than that of the reference building. For buildings with water-bearing systems, a thermal insulation superiority of at least 45 percent is required in order to offer our customers the best possible heating solution.

Exclusive benefits of Könighaus infrared heating systems

Könighaus infrared heaters stand for the highest quality and offer numerous advantages. They generate a pleasant and healthy radiant heat – comparable to the natural warmth of the sun’s rays or tiled stoves – but without the need for long warm-up times. Our systems are energy-efficient, low-maintenance and easy to install, making them a cost-effective and sustainable heating solution. By using green electricity or combining them with photovoltaic systems, our heating systems can be operated up to 100 percent CO2-free, making them even more environmentally friendly.

An attractive alternative – we will be happy to advise you

Könighaus infrared heaters are ideal as the main source of heat in new buildings. Alternatively, they can be used to cover peak loads in combination with existing heating systems. Our infrared heaters are also suitable for merging with small heat pumps in hybrid systems. In view of the price trends for oil and gas, our heaters represent an inexpensive alternative. Do you still have questions? We offer you comprehensive and individual advice to help you find the perfect heating solution for your home.
