How it all began …
Könighaus is a modern, medium-sized family business. Founded in 2012 – around 10 years ago – Till Könighaus began to focus on the special mode of action of infrared heaters. His motivation: to design the infrared heating of the future. The aim is to offer customers functional, well thought-out and aesthetically pleasing products for their own homes.
As the father of four children, Till Könighaus was and is committed to thinking sustainably and long-term. So 10 years ago, more and more questions arose, such as: What innovations are possible in the field of alternative heat sources? What makes infrared heat so special? Or very up-to-date: How will climate change affect our energy resources? How will we heat in the future? How will the war in Ukraine affect the future supply of gas? Questions that are looking for new answers and innovative solutions and are therefore more pressing than ever. The vision
As a “start-up”, the company’s first years were characterized by Till Könighaus’ vision of being able to offer a suitable solution for many people with infrared heaters. Because the advantages of infrared heating are obvious.
Let’s first look at how this heating system works. A classic radiator heats the ambient air in the room. The heat rises upwards and disperses the fine dust that is present in every room. An infrared heater, on the other hand, heats the masonry and the objects or people in the room. These then transfer the heat to the room air. This is an energy-efficient and healthy heating method, as the lack of air turbulence means that fine dust pollution is lower than with conventional heating systems, making it ideal for allergy sufferers.

The next step
As a visionary with a technical understanding and the necessary communication and negotiation skills, it was clear to Till Könighaus that he could not stop at the idea. Convinced of his plans and the meaningfulness of his future company, he decided to quit his previous job and concentrate fully on successfully founding his company. But that’s not all. As a socially committed family man, it was important to him to involve family and friends in the company. His brother Robin Könighaus has not only been on board since the company was founded, but is also responsible for the smooth running of the company as Managing Director. You could say that the majority of our employees are family members or long-standing companions and friends. This trusting cooperation is the basis and the heart of our successful company. We don’t just talk about a family business, we ARE a young and modern family business.
Made in Germany
Könighaus has grown steadily in recent years. In addition to its personal responsibility towards its own family, this has also increased its social commitment to people who do not have good opportunities on the conventional job market. This is another important point that sets the company apart from many other medium-sized companies. Offering people who do not have it so easy in their professional lives the opportunity to discover or expand their skills.
The company currently employs around 80 people, and new fields of activity have been added. We are the only supplier of infrared heaters in Germany that can print the infrared heaters individually in our in-house print shop using inks specially produced for us by Canon and design them according to your wishes.
We now sell our infrared heaters in over 25 countries and are delighted that our quality, Made in Germany, is also appreciated internationally. The highest demands on materials and workmanship in terms of sustainable heating technology are our top priority.
What happens next?
This year, we were able to take another important step into the future with our company. By moving to a new company site, we have centralized our production facility and shortened distances.
