All the best for your pet

Back to overview

What is good for you is usually also good for your pet. Heat has a positive influence on many existing illnesses – be they psychological or physical. With an infrared heater, the warming infrared radiation can be directed specifically to affected areas and these can then be treated.

Infrared heat for animals – what needs to be considered?

The classic radiator heats the ambient air in the room. The air circulates, the heat rises and disperses the fine dust that is present in every room. In contrast to conventional heating systems, infrared heaters do not primarily heat the air in the room, but the masonry. The outer walls in particular are usually the coldest areas in the room and create an unpleasant feeling of cold.

Infrared heat provides a cozy, pleasant feeling without the disadvantage of stuffy ambient air, as is often the case with conventional heaters. The heat is comparable to the sun’s rays, which are also perceived as very pleasant. The sun’s rays first warm the surface of the body and are then transported further inside the body.

This is not only the case for us humans, animals also find this warmth very pleasant and soothing. In zoos, for example, infrared heaters are used to create a pleasant and pristine (warm) environment for animals that are used to a warmer climate than in Germany and are out in the fresh air all year round. There are, of course, many other possible uses for infrared heat. For example, exotic reptiles in terrariums, such as snakes or lizards, require optimum temperature management in order to survive.

If young animals are being reared or if animals are weakened during a litter, an infrared heater is also suitable as a pleasant support. Basically, care should be taken to ensure that the optimum distance between the infrared heater and the area to be heated is sufficient and is between 0.5 and 2.50 meters. With animals in particular, it is important that sufficient distance is maintained to avoid overheating and burns.

Advantages for your pet

Perhaps you know the situation yourself – you feel tired, exhausted and even the slightest movements are exhausting. Our furry friends can also feel like this from time to time. Yesterday they were cheerful and lively and suddenly show signs of illness. As a general rule, a visit to the vet is always advisable first to clarify the cause of the change.

Older dogs and animals with joint diseases such as osteoarthritis, spondylosis, hip dysplasia or herniated discs have major problems, especially in the cold and damp autumn and winter months in this country. The joints are stiff and tense, the metabolism slows down and the reduced blood circulation in the joints causes pain. In addition to regular exercise, the use of a Könighaus infrared heater can be suitable for various illnesses where the perceived warmth provides pain relief for the animal.

But not only older and sick dogs benefit from the heat, anxious dogs can also benefit from indirect heat – the dog can relax and thus reduce stress.

Effects

The heat from an infrared heater penetrates approx. 4 cm deep into the skin – the stimulated blood circulation promotes regeneration and general well-being. The dilation of the blood vessels increases the blood flow – as a result, inflammatory substances are transported, the oxygen supply increases and the tension in the muscles decreases. At the same time, the body’s own endorphins are released, which can lead to a reduction in pain and inflammation. This effect can also be used to treat injuries to tendons, ligaments or muscles, as the stretchability of the tissue is increased by the heat. Your dog’s muscles relax and pain is relieved.

Of course, heat is not useful in every case. Depending on the clinical picture, heat should not be used for the following conditions – such as fever, tumors or heart failure. A visit to the vet is therefore always advisable and recommended.

Note

Please contact our customer service or your specialist retailer to find out whether the infrared heater is suitable for your planned application. Animals are living beings and react very differently as individuals. What pleases one person may not be right for another. The facts stated above do not constitute a promise of a cure. Furthermore, we cannot guarantee the correctness of the stated descriptions of effects.

Conclusion

The use of a Könighaus infrared heater provides your pet with a comfortable, pleasant feeling, reduces stress and relieves pain. Just like us humans, animals benefit from the original, profound warmth of infrared rays.
