Did you know that the first World Environment Day was celebrated back in 1972? So this year we are celebrating its 40th anniversary. The Day of the Wind or Global Wind Day is now celebrated worldwide. Over 30 countries on 4 continents take part in the campaign. The holiday was introduced by the wind energy industry around 2007. The aim of the day is to inform the public about the importance of wind energy. Companies from the energy sector offer various activities such as kite flying, tours of windmills or entire wind farms.
